Private heart beds show folly of scrapping cancer beds
First Premier Andrews cancels 42 new cancer beds for Peter Mac because they would have treated private patients. Now he plans to rely on private patients from overseas to help prop up his flawed idea for a stand-alone heart hospital!
If it’s good enough to have private patients at a heart hospital, why did Mr Andrews deny cancer patients the much needed extra beds at Peter Mac?
Time and time again, Victorians are suffering from Mr Andrews’ stubbornness and refusal to listen – Peter Mac, East West Link, Skyrail, and now his folly of a heart hospital built so far away from anywhere else that it will need a fleet of ambulances just to shuttle patients back and forth from Monash Medical Centre.
