Labor’s recklessness to add to infrastructure costs

Daniel Andrews’ reckless and irresponsible attempt to tear up the East West Link contract is damaging Victoria’s reputation around the world and threatening to drive up the cost of any future Victorian major infrastructure projects.

Not only will Victorians be stuck in traffic for years to come, we will have to pay more for our future infrastructure because investors will need a premium for doing business with a dodgy and unreliable government like Victorian Labor.

As today’s The Australian quotes from Infra-Asia, a leading international investment journal:

“In an ostensibly stable, transparent market like Australia, it is almost unimaginable that a political party would campaign to tear up a contract for a project it conceived, and then consider paying billions of dollars in compensation”.

Unimaginable – unless it is Daniel Andrews and Victorian Labor.
