Union decides to shut down rail system
It didn’t take long! After Friday’s threats, the rail union today have decided to shut down our rail system for the first time since 1997.
Premier Andrews needs to tell the rail union to stop making outrageous demands and instead sit down with Metro at the Fair Work Commission to sort this out without disrupting commuters.
My colleague David Hodgett, the Shadow Minister for Public Transport, put it well in his comments in The Age’s on-line report:
“These are Daniel Andrews’ union mates and he needs to tell them to go the umpire, instead of holding commuters to ransom.
“Daniel Andrews needs to fix this. He needs to be the Premier, not a union officials’ drinking buddy.”
