Whitehorse schools commemorate ANZAC centenary

Students from schools across the City of Whitehorse gathered today at the Box Hill Cenotaph for the schools ANZAC centenary service.

It was wonderful to see the strong support from schools including Laburnum Primary School, Blackburn Primary School, Blackburn High School, St Francis Xavier School, Mont Albert Primary School, Kerrimuir Primary School, Koonung Secondary College, Old Orchard Primary School and Surrey Hills Primary School.

Afghanistan veteran Adam Lawson’s moving address brought home the reality of what the young men and women who served in WW1, both at Gallipoli and on the Western Front in France and Belgium, went through for the sake of their country, and why therefore it is important to remember and give thanks for their sacrifice.
