Government must reinstate Koonung Secondary College’s funding

Shadow Education Minister, Nick Wakeling MP, joined me to visit Koonung Secondary College today.

It was great to see the preparations for the school’s new science and food technology upgrade that’s ready to start, thanks to $1.2 million of funding provided under the Coalition government last year.

However, I also wanted Nick to see what Koonung SC is missing out on as a result of the Labor government axing a further $8.8 million of funding the Coalition also committed to last year.

That funding is needed so that many of the school’s most outdated classrooms and facilities can be fully replaced.

Koonung Secondary College is an excellent school with terrific teachers and strong results, but until last year it hadn’t received any major upgrade funding since 1997.

That’s why I’m calling on the government to reinstate the school’s much needed $8.8 million funding. Let me know if you agree –www.robertclark.com.au/contact.
