Box Hill High School – still waiting for funding
Box Hill High School is still waiting to hear from the state government about whether and how much funding it will receive for extra classrooms and facilities for its growing student numbers.
I took Nick Wakeling MP, Shadow Minister for Education, to visit Box Hill High School today to find out first-hand about the school’s needs and plans, and about its innovative teaching approach and programs.
The former Coalition government committed $5 million of funding for Box Hill High School last year. The Labor government refused to continue with that funding, but did say the school would get something. So far, the government won’t say how much or when.
With a growing school-aged population in and around Box Hill, the government must honour its promise and provide the funds for the extra classrooms and facilities Box Hill High School needs.
