Thugs exempted from move-on laws

Another riot on our streets yesterday, as those looking for violence think they can defy the law and get away with it.

Police were left powerless to use move-on laws to head off the riot, because one of Labor’s first acts after being elected was to give a complete exemption from move-on laws to demonstrators, protesters or anyone publicising their views about an issue.

Labor ignored warnings about the consequences, and now the community is paying the price.
