专家警告 “空中火车” 不符合社区利益

维州政府已确认，移除火车平交道口后，政府将计画用高约三层楼，长数公里的高架轨道来运行近郊火车。 然则使用高架轨道替代火车线地下化，在多数维州近郊皆为低楼层住宅和商店的情况下，此举意味着有碍观瞻的高架轨道将严重影响周边住户、店家与企业。

 

政府自己聘用的专家也提出警告，指出 “空中火车” 的高架轨道结构将带来一系列灾难性的影响与结果。 专家更批评说 “他们常提供一个更便宜的解决方案，但却总是弄巧成拙，这种经济管理方式是虚假而且不切实际的＂

 

当初人民投票给工党，希望工党执政后履行它移除火车平交道口的计画时，大家并未料到工党可能使用空中轨道来取代火车线地下化的方案。一分钱一分货，这世上那有要马儿好，又要马儿不吃草的事？ 亡羊补牢，未为晚也，如今政府应放弃这劣质且不切实际的设计方案，一步一脚印，确切落实这方面的工作方是正途。

Experts warn “Skyrail” will harm communities

 

The State government has confirmed that it plans to remove level crossings by using three-storey high elevated tracks that will run for many kilometres through built up suburbs.

 

Using elevated tracks instead of lowering rail lines under the road will mean high and intrusive visual barriers running through the middle of suburbs, badly affecting homes, shops and businesses nearby.

 

The government’s own experts have warned that structures like this have serious harmful effects, saying “”They often provide a cheaper solution but a poorer outcome and therefore a false economy.”

 

When people voted for the Labor Party’s promises to remove level crossings, they had no warning that Labor might use these Skyrail tracks. The government should abandon its plans for this quick but inferior design, and do the job properly.
