墨尔本东区居委会成立庆典

上周一个全新的协会成立了，墨尔本东区居民委员会将为墨尔本东部地区的居民提供促进多元文化、增进邻里交流互动并友善相处互助的平台。墨尔本东区居委会也在 Box Hill 市政厅迎来它正式的成立庆典。

当人到了说着不同语言的陌生国家，自然而然总会面对许多问题和挑战。 MERA (墨尔本东区居委会) 不但可协助新人妥善处理问题，更可反应他们的问题或担忧给地方市政府、州政府或联邦政府。

至今为止已有超过 550 个家庭加入并成为 MERA 的成员，其中多数为中国移民。

在此祝贺 MERA 的庆典圆满落幕，也感谢每一位协助新移民融入社会的朋友。

Help for new eastern suburbs residents

A new association has been established to provide advice and help for residents of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, especially migrants.

The Melbourne Eastern Residents Association had its inaugural celebration at Box Hill Town Hall last week.

People often have many issues and questions coming to a new country that speaks a different language. MERA aims to help people find answers to common questions they have, and also to raise issues and concerns with local councils and with State and Federal MPs.

Over 550 families have already become members of MERA, and most members are Chinese.
