Lifts, but government still won’t widen subway

While installing lifts at Blackburn Station is welcome, it’s very disappointing that the state government is still doing nothing to fix the core problem of Blackburn’s narrow, cramped subway.

With increasing population and public transport use, the current, outdated subway is going to become even more crowded and unpleasant as time goes on.

Instead of just modifying parts of the subway for lifts, the government needs to widen the entire subway.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to get it right, and the government needs to do the job properly.
