Labor dumps Coalition’s $2.5 billion rail upgrade

Today Daniel Andrews revealed that he is dumping the Coalition’s $2.5 billion Cranbourne-Pakenham rail upgrade project.

In scrapping this project Labor has refused to make a funding commitment to improve commuter and freight capacity on the Cranbourne-Pakenham line.

It has also abandoned the essential upgrades needed before any future Rowville rail extension.

Residents of the south-east now have no funded rail project, and no timeline for future line upgrades.

South-east residents join other residents across Melbourne and Victoria who are suffering from Daniel Andrews’ scrapping of East West Link, Melbourne Rail Link, the Airport Rail Link and other vital infrastructure.
