Small business advice on wheels bound for Box Hill

Box Hill small business operators can access vital information, support and free mentoring when the Victorian Government’s Mobile Business Centre visits on Tuesday 25 February.

Member for Box Hill, Robert Clark MP said the Mobile Business Centre will have information about Small Business Victoria’s year-round services, including low-cost seminars, workshops and programs.

There will also be extensive literature on board about planning, starting and growing a business, with information on everything from registering for taxation to formulating a business plan.

Mr Clark said the Mobile Business Centre would be an important part of the Coalition Government’s commitment to improving productivity, encouraging innovation and providing a fair and competitive small business environment.

“A group of volunteers from the Small Business Mentoring Service will provide expert advice to small business owners,” Mr Clark said.

“These mentors, who come from backgrounds including marketing, finance, human resources and sales, have extensive experience either running their own small business, or working in senior management in business.”

Minister for Innovation, Services and Small Business Louise Asher said the Mobile Business Centre will offer small business operators in Box Hill access to information and advice and reflect the Coalition Government’s support for an increasingly robust and innovative small business sector.

“There are more than 520,000 small businesses in Victoria and they represent 96 per cent of the state’s businesses,” Ms Asher said.

“Last year the Mobile Business Centre visited more than 103 towns and suburbs across Victoria and its mentors delivered more than 745 mentoring sessions to small businesses.

The Mobile Business Centre will be located at Box Hill Town Hall, 1022 Whitehorse Road, between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday 25 February.
