What on earth is going on in youth justice in Victoria? How can authorities be so little in control that juvenile offenders can riot for two nights in a row with nothing done to stop it happening?
The government has got to regain discipline and control in these centres, not simply plead with rioters to stop by offering them soft drink and junk food.
The Andrews government needs to finally wake up that its soft laws and weak sentences are telling juvenile offenders they can treat the law with contempt and get away with it.
There needs to be change right through the youth justice system so that young offenders learn from the start that the law must be respected and there are consequences if it is not.
