Crime squads stretched to the limit


There are more reports today of police stretched to breaking point by the government’s failure to provide enough police.

Child abuse and sexual offences investigation teams are amongst those reported to be overrun by work and unable to do their job properly.

The government is now scrambling to try to bring forward the training of new officers, but their response has been too little and too late – they should not have caused this crisis in the first place.
