New appointment to the Magistrates’ Court
Attorney-General Robert Clark today announced the appointment of Gregory Robinson to the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.
Mr Robinson has been a member of the Victorian Bar since 2004.
Mr Clark said Mr Robinson brought extensive experience to the bench, including a career as a diplomat, intelligence officer, trade policy officer and lawyer.
“Mr Robinson has had over 10 years’ of wide-ranging experience at the Bar,” Mr Clark said.
“Mr Robinson practised initially in civil, administrative and criminal law, appearing in the Magistrates’ Court, County Courts and VCAT, as well as in industrial relations matters, before focussing on commercial and administrative law.”
Mr Robinson graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours. He also has a Masters in International Relations from the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
From 2007 to 2010, Mr Robinson was a member of the Migration and Refugee Review Tribunals, hearing and determining applications for review of decisions of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
