延长 CityLink 收费伴随而来的沉重代价

近期报纸媒体公佈的报告指出，如果 Andrews 工党政府决定延长 CityLink 收费时限，则维州的人民将会为此决议而付出沉重的代价。

事件起因于工党政府为了挪出经费进行 “西部枢纽” 计画 (Western Distributor)，一个只连接 Westgate 高速公路和 CityLink 的建设方案， 因此提案政府延长 CityLink 对通勤驾驶的收费至少 12年以上来支付计画所需费用。

根据专家评估，如果延长收费时限，驾驶们在未来 12年间总支付的路费代价将高达 200 ~ 300 亿澳币。 维州这项耗资天价的西部枢纽计画，由于无法起到连接东部和西部的功能，在东部和东南部民众毫无受益的情况下，却又需负担超过 12 年以上的过路费实在非常不公平而且非常的不合理

Huge cost from extended CityLink tolls

Recent newspaper reports suggest Victorians will pay a huge extra cost if the Andrews Labor government decides to extend tolls on CityLink.

It is proposed that the government will charge tolls for motorists who use CityLink for at least 12 more years, in order to pay part of the cost of the Labor government’s proposed Western Distributor that will run between the Westgate Freeway and Citylink.

Motorists could pay between $20 billion and $30 billion in tolls over a 12 year period, according to expert estimates.

This is very unfair for motorists in the south-eastern and eastern suburbs, who will seldom get any benefit from the Western Distributor, but will still have to pay tolls for at least 12 more years.
