当犯罪恶化，惩教部长因丑闻辞职

维州惩教部长 Steve Herbert 因用公器私用，使用政府车辆运送宠物狗回乡下老家。 严重触犯澳州政治节操底线，因此于上周丑闻爆发后辞职下台。

值得注意的是，在维州面临治安恶化、司法体系陷入泥沼、家庭入侵、劫车、抢劫等犯罪频传，监狱制度被犯罪人视如无物的黑暗时期，这已是短短十个月不到，第四位惩教部长走马上任。

种种管理不当下，司法制度陷入僵局，政府承诺的全新假释案件管理系统停摆， 继去年暴动后所需修復和升级的墨尔本羁押中心也一再拖延，种种承诺至今都无法兑现。

州长Andrews 先生需要结束他政府团队的不稳定与溷乱局面，需要把心思集中在处理维州治安恶化，人民生命财产不保的窘境，还给维州从前的和平与安宁。

Disgraced Corrections Minister quits as crime soars

Last week, the Victorian Minister for Corrections, Steve Herbert, resigned in disgrace after admitting he used his government car and driver to chauffeur his pet dogs to his country home.

This means Victoria now has its fourth Corrections Minister in just ten months, at a time when the justice system is in crisis, with home invasions, carjackings, looting and a prison system which is treated with contempt by criminals.

There have been long delays in a promised new parole case management system, and in repairing and in upgrading the Melbourne Remand Centre after last year’s prison riot.

Premier Andrews needs to end the turmoil in his government and start focussing on reducing crime and making Victoria safe again.
