平交道地下化，政府不应只做表面文章

維州政府目前正想方設法的削減平交道地下化工程預算。政府為了更便宜的建設成本，甚至考慮把原定地下化的平交道工程在某些地區改為 “空中化”，又名 “天鐵”。

所謂的 “天鐵” 提案不過是把鐵路設在地上約兩層樓或更高些的位置，然此一方案毫無吸引力。　若真改成 “天鐵”，勢必嚴重影響附近住戶、店家及企業，　“天鐵” 根本只是表面文章，而且有違政府改革的初衷。

以我自己選區為例，即使 2014 年州政府已編列完整預算給 Blackburn 地區的平交道地下化工程，但現今州政府卻只做表面文章，拒絕完善平交道地下化後的人行道工程。 平交道地下化和地下人行道的完善化應是相輔相成，不可分割的改革。 回顧當年自由黨執政時期，我們不但完成許多平交道地下化，更重要的是我們都有確切落實完善地下人行道的改革工程。

建設改革為國家百年大計，做好並完善改革方能真正有利鄉里並造福人民。 現今 Andrews 工黨政府也應確切落實平交道改革，切勿只做表面文章。

Government must do level crossing projects properly

 

The State Labor government is looking at ways to cut back on level crossing removal projects in order to save money.

 

Instead of putting the rail lines underground at level crossings, as promised, the government is now looking at raising the rail line above ground level at some crossings, because that is cheaper

 

However, this so-called “Sky Rail” two or more storeys above ground level will be unattractive and noisy, badly affecting homes, shops and businesses nearby.

 

In my own electorate, the government is refusing to enlarge the pedestrian underpass at Blackburn station, even though the Blackburn crossing project was fully funded in 2014 by the previous Liberal government.

 

When the Liberal Party was in government, we removed many level crossings and did the projects properly. The Andrews Labor government must do the same.
