医院複杂疗程经费遭砍

州政府近期透露，政府已减少医院用来治疗複杂病患的疗程经费。

直至目前为止，当医院遇到较複杂病例的患者，政府会就此补贴较高额的经费，医院也藉此达到提供病患所需相对複杂及昂贵的疗程。

然则，州政府近期对许多较複杂的病症上已不再提供高额经费，这无疑代表医院倘若不是拆东牆补西牆，从它处挪用资金，就只能降低服务品质，减少患者所需的医疗服务。

当前医院已在高昂的电价上苦不堪言，此时的医院更不该受到隐藏在细节的魔鬼所影响，尤其是这类直接影响维州人民，造成人民在需要时更难取得有效治疗的改动。

Funding cut for complex hospital treatment

The state government has recently revealed that it has reduced the funding it provides to hospitals to treat patients with complex medical problems.

Until now, when a hospital treats a patient with multiple or complex problems, the government has provided the hospital with a higher level of funding so it can provide the more complicated and expensive treatment that is required.

However, the government has recently stopped providing that higher funding for many complex medical conditions. This means hospitals either need to find the money by cutting other areas or else they have to reduce the treatment they give to patients with complex needs.

Hospitals are already struggling because of huge increases in electricity bills.  Hospitals should not be hit with these sneaky budget cuts that will make it harder for Victorians to obtain hospital treatment when they need it.
