浪费的州预算，被忽视的墨尔本东区

上周维州的预算显示，州政府大幅度提高税费时，也提高了开销和借贷。

然则，钱并未花在刀口上，更准确的说，维州许多地区在这次预算中都被忽视。

令人注意的是州政府在预算中大幅举债，举债到了政府上限的额度。 儘管拆了东牆补西牆，却仍没有足够经费来满足政府开出的竞选支票，而墨尔本铁路计画 (Melbourne Metro rail tunnel)、北部东部高速路段 (North East Link road) 更是其中的实例。

在我的服务选区 Box Hill，儘管人口增长迅速，发展随处可见，但预算中却未见任何基础设施或新项目。

对 Box Hill 地区而言，儘管工党在选前许下承诺，给出竞选支票，但预算中仍未显示任何新学校的成立或升级，也没有 Box Hill 大众运输中转站的更新或升级 ，着实让人遗憾。

Wasteful state budget neglects Melbourne’s east

Last week’s Victorian State budget made big increases in taxes, spending and borrowing.

However, much of the money is not being spent wisely, and many parts of Victoria have been neglected.

The budget has increased borrowings up to the government’s limit, but there is still not enough money to pay for the government’s promises such as the Melbourne Metro rail tunnel or the North East Link road.

In my electorate of Box Hill, the budget does not provide not a single new project, despite all the additional development and population that is occurring.

There are no school upgrades or new schools, and no upgrade for the Box Hill Transport Interchange, despite Labor’s election promise.
