Turnbull 政府于上周在澳大利亚议会通过一项新法案，该法案将监督让工会官员更诚实也更负责，这无疑是令全民振奋的好消息。

工会官员在未来都将受到等同公司法中对执行长的约束，他们必须要将工会成员的利益凌驾于自己的私人利益之上，也必须停止公器私用，滥用工会资金为私人谋利的情况发生。

工会未来的开支也都将更透明，更具法律监督，成员都将有权得知工会官员薪水支付状况，对于违反相关法律的工会官员将面临严厉的刑责处罚。

这代表从今以后工会更公开透明，每一位成员都会受到更好的保护，保护最基层的会员免于被不诚实的工会官员所害。

更公开透明的工会，也可以保护企业雇主，更有效杜绝工会官员因私利或政治因素向企业雇主要求献金或资金。

Turnbull government strengthens union laws

Good news last week with the Australian Parliament passing new laws from the Turnbull government to make union officials more honest and accountable.

In future, union officials will be subject to similar laws to company directors. They will be required to put the interests of their members ahead of their own interests and stop misusing union funds for their own purposes.

Workers will be entitled to know how much their senior officials are being paid, and tough penalties will apply to officials who break the new laws.

This will mean that workers who are union members will be better protected from dishonest union officials.

It will also be harder for union officials to demand money from employers for their own personal or political purposes.
