10,000名癌症患与治疗失之交臂
过去一年来，有多达 1 万名癌症病患与治疗失之交臂，这一切只因 Andrews 州长取消维州综合癌症中心 (VCCC) 的 42 张新病床。
州长解释，他禁止这些新病床的原因是因床位会被私人医疗病患所使用。所以至今为止长达一年时间，VCCC第13 楼整层都处于空置状态。
原本第 13 层除了规划新病床给病人，亦会有4个全新的手术室及进行世界最先进的癌症研究。 如今，一切美好的愿景只剩空荡荡的楼层。
过了一年仍然空置不但是一种资源浪费，更是维州的悲剧。 很多病患因州长取消病床的决定，与顶尖医疗失之交臂。 俗话说，救人一命胜造七级浮屠，州长对私人医疗的意识形态让原本美好的愿景成了昨日黄花，岂不可惜?

10,000 cancer patients miss out
Up to 10,000 cancer patients have missed out on treatment over the past year because Premier Andrews ordered the cancellation of 42 new cancer treatment beds at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
The 13th floor of the new VCCC is still empty more than one year after the Premier said he would not allow these beds because they would be used for private hospital patients.
The centre would also have had four new operating centres and would have undertaken world-leading cancer research
It is a tragedy that this centre is still empty one year later and so many patients have missed out on cancer treatment simply because of the Premier’s ideological decision to order these beds to be cancelled.
