犯罪率持续上升

据上周公佈的最新数据显示，维州犯罪一如既往般持续恶化，其中犹以暴力犯罪为最。

人身攻击上升 13%、抢劫上升 21%、家庭入侵犯罪上升比例则高达36%，短短一年内增长超过三成。

随着犯罪问题大幅度的恶化，人们逐渐开始生活在担心受怕的环境裡，他们担忧可能会有暴力犯罪分子强行入室，攻击他们的家人和掠夺如汽车等贵重的财物。

维州急需更多的警力投入，而不单只是口头保证未来可能会有更多的警察。 与此同时，同等之急是结束之前过度放鬆法制的管理模式，唯此方能给予犯罪者应有的惩罚，也唯此方能更有效吓阻犯罪，保护邻里。

Crime rates continue to rise

The latest crime statistics published last week show more increases in crime rates in Victoria, particularly violent crime.

Assaults are up 13%, robberies are up 21% and home invasions are up a massive 36% – an increase of more than a third in just one year.

With these huge increases, it’s not surprising people are living in fear of violent criminals breaking into their homes at night, attacking them and their families and stealing their cars and valuables.

Victoria needs more police urgently, not just government promises of more police some time in future. We also need an end to weak sentencing so that offenders are given penalties that will deter offending and keep the community safe.
