犯罪居高不下，治安持续恶化

上周公佈的最新数据显示，对比其它州治安的日渐好转，维州暴力犯罪持续恶化，治安每况愈下。 强行入室犯罪增加 28% 、抢劫上升 20%、偷车犯罪增加 17%。

仅去年就有超过 4200 个家庭于人在家中时，被犯罪份子强行入室，这等同每周平均至少有80 个无辜家庭受害。

身为政府的首要职责就是保护人民，让人民免受犯罪荼毒。 我们需要政府确保法律和判刑规章足以吓阻或遏止犯罪发生，对于已犯下恶行的危险人物更应囚于牢狱之内，以此避免更多无辜人民因此受害。

Crime continues to rise

The latest crime statistics were released last week, and they show that violent crime is continuing to rise in Victoria, even though it is falling in most other states.

Home invasions increased by 28 per cent last year, robberies by 20 per cent, and motor vehicle thefts by 17 per cent.

More than 4,200 Victorian families last year had violent criminals break into their home while they were inside.  That’s more than 80 families being traumatised every week.

It is the first duty of every government to keep people safe from crime.  We need our government to ensure our laws and sentences are strong enough to deter crime and keep dangerous offenders locked up.
