澳大利亚衢州同乡会成立大典

週日我很荣幸和 Mount Waverley 州议员 Michael Gidley 连同出席衢州同乡会的成立大典。

这是衢州首次在海外成立同乡会，同乡会将促进来自衢州朋友间的协助与互动、建立人际关係交流网、饮水思源的教导他们下一代有关衢州的历史和文化。

我已学到许多有关衢州的宝贵资讯，衢州在地理位置上不但是公路、铁路与河道三方交汇的重要交通枢纽，自宋朝南迁后，更是孔子后裔的落脚处。 时至今日，唯衢州与曲阜有孔氏家庙，这一切无不彰显出衢州的独特和与众不同。

我在此祝福会长姜军及衢州同乡会的全体成员，祝你们同乡会的成立，不但就此划下衢州同乡会的历史时刻，在未来数年内，更就此日日茁壮，走向辉煌。

Inauguration of Australian Quzhou Association

I was pleased to be able to attend the celebration of the establishment of the Australian Quzhou Association Inc. on Sunday, together with the MP for Mount Waverley, Michael Gidley.

This is the first overseas Quzhou association to be established anywhere in the world.  It will allow people from Quzhou to help each other in a new country, to build networks and contacts, and to teach their children about Quzhou’s history and culture.

I have already learned a lot about Quzhou – a centre where many road, railroads and river routes meet, and an historical city where many descendants of the philosopher Confucius still live.

My congratulations to new President, Dr Jun Jiang, and to all members of the association.  I wish the association every success for many years to come.
