影子反恐部长

上週维州自由党领袖 Matthew Guy 任命我为首任影子反恐部长，我的主要责任是代表维州的自由党联盟，防止恐怖主义与攻击。

不幸的是，恐怖攻击的威胁在世界各地都存在，自然而然，澳大利亚也难以置身事外。

有效防止恐怖袭击会需要採取多层次和多元的保护措施，不但需要警察与其他机构在情报收集上的精准和熟练，亦需训练有素的警务人员及时採取行动，提早发现并扼杀恐怖攻击于计画的摇篮中。

与此同时，升级与详细计画现有维安来提高恐怖袭击的难度，强而有力的法律长期监禁恐怖份子，提前预防，避免澳洲人被恐怖组织吸收或招募，多管齐下维护人民安全。

我们政府也需要确保这些多元且多层次的防护措施能配合无间，做到滴水不漏，唯此我们社区邻里的维安才有可能做到尽善尽美。

Shadow Minister for Counter-Terrorism

Last week, Victorian Liberal Leader, Matthew Guy, appointed me as the first Shadow Minister for Counter Terrorism.  My role will be to represent the Victorian Liberal Nationals Coalition on preventing terrorism in Victoria.

Unfortunately, the threat of terrorism continues around the world, and Australia is not immune from that threat.

Preventing terrorist attacks requires many different protections.  It needs skilled information and intelligence gathering by police and other agencies, speedy and well trained action by police to find and stop those planning terrorist attacks, upgraded and well-planned security to make terrorist attacks harder, strong laws to jail terrorists for a long time, and moves to stop Australians being recruited by terrorists.

Our governments need to make sure that each of these protections is operating as well as possible, so that our community can be kept as safe as possible.
