墨尔本交通拥堵比悉尼更糟糕

墨尔本高峰时段的交通拥堵状况恶劣，现今拥堵程度更甚悉尼。

上週公佈的一份报告显示，墨尔本在高峰期间，进市区的通车时间比夜间不堵車時长 80%，而 Sydney 通车时间对比则仅多了 70%。

报告同时也指出，墨尔本东部地区是交通拥堵的重灾区，特别是东部高速公路 (Eastern Freeway) 的位置。

这一切无不显示我们有多么需要东西环线 (East West Link)，更同样证明当初 Andrews 州长浪费 13亿澳币废除兴建该项目的决策有多么的愚蠢和错误。

Melbourne’s congestion now worse than Sydney

Peak traffic congestion in Melbourne is now worse than in Sydney.

A report published last week shows that morning peak traffic in Melbourne makes an average trip to the CBD 80% longer than the same trip would take at night time, compared with 70% longer in Sydney.

The report found the worst congestion is in the east of Melbourne, especially along the Eastern Freeway corridor.

This shows yet again how much we need East West Link, and how foolish it was for Premier Andrews to waste $1.3 billion of public money to cancel this project.
