有些人沉迷于止痛药或其它药物，这一切仅因这些药可以帮助他们舒缓痛苦，让他们更好过一些。 但因药物成瘾，他们从不同的医生，取得相同的处方药，很遗憾的，此举易导致用药过量，仅去年就有 372 人因处方药使用过量致死。

为了有效减缓药物过量致死问题，澳大利亚和维州政府正推动新法，一个可让相关部门及时侦测是否有人从不同医生取得相同的处方药。

Preventing prescription drug misuse

Did you know that more people die in Victoria each year from overdoses of legal drugs than from illegal drugs?

Some people become addicted to pain killers and other medicine drugs because those drugs help them feel better.  They go to many different doctors to get prescriptions for the same drugs because of their addiction.    Sadly, 372 people died last year from overdoses of prescription medicine.

To reduce this, the Australian and Victorian governments are now introducing new laws so authorities can detect when the same person is obtaining an addictive drug from many different doctors.
