谭保政府承诺50亿澳币，兴建机场快线

上週总理谭保宣布，澳大利亚政府将提供 50 亿澳币资金，投入兴建墨尔本机场快线，一条连接市区和机场的铁路干道。

这对墨尔本而言，是天大的好消息。 墨尔本是世界上少数几个没有机场铁路线的城市，旅客们被迫花费冗长的时间在交通的拥堵和排队上，而机场铁路的出现，将给这一切带来转机与希望。

以前维州自由党政府曾规划兴建一条通往机场的铁路线，可惜这项计画在 2014 年工党当选时，被现任的 Andrews 州长所废。

如今，维州自由党领袖 Matthew Guy 对总理谭保先生宣布的承诺表示欢迎，并承诺，如果维州自由党在今年 11 月份当选，将迅速启动兴建机场铁路线的计画，让万众期待的机场铁路线得以早日完成。

Turnbull government pledges $5b for airport rail link

Last week, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced that the Australian government will provide $5 billion to build a rail link between the city and Melbourne airport.

This is wonderful news, because Melbourne is one of the few major cities in the world that does not have a rail service to the airport. Travellers are forced to spend long times stuck in traffic or queuing to drive into the airport.

The previous Victorian Liberal-Nationals government planned to build a rail line to the airport, but those plans were scrapped by Premier Andrews when he was elected in 2014.

Victorian Liberal leader, Matthew Guy, has welcomed Prime Minister Turnbull’s announcement, and has promised that if a Victorian Liberal Nationals government is elected in November this year, work will start quickly to get the airport rail line built.
