Liberals promise funds to make country roads safer
Victoria has wonderful countryside and landscapes, but our country roads can be dangerous for visitors and other motorists who are not familiar with driving in the country.
That is one of the reasons Liberal leader, Matthew Guy, has promised to bring back a Country Roads and Bridges Program, to help make country roads and bridges safer.
Unfortunately, many small councils in country Victoria struggle to raise the money to maintain roads or replace bridges in their areas, meaning they can often become worn out and less safe.
The Country Roads and Bridges Program will provide around $1m in grants each year to 40 rural council areas for the next four years, so these councils can make their roads and bridges safer for residents and visitors to use and enjoy.
