Liberals to boost palliative care

When someone is terminally ill, they should be helped to spend cherished time with their loved ones, not left to die in pain because they can’t get proper palliative care.

Victoria is fortunate that we have some of the best palliative care services in the world.  However, many Victorians miss out because there aren’t enough of those services to help everyone who needs them.

That’s why Liberal leader, Matthew Guy, has announced a Liberal Nationals government will commit $140 million to support terminally ill Victorians’ choice to die in their own home, surrounded by those they love.

This will help up to 8,000 more Victorians to receive expanded community palliative care services, including in-home respite, overnight care, specialist advice, access to after-hours GPs and pharmacists, and carer support.
