维州需要因应人口增长的计画

维州人口以每年超过十万人的速度增长着，预计到了 2050 年时，维州人口将会达到800 万人。

除非做出什麽改变，否则大部分增长都将发生在墨尔本地区。 如此庞大的人口增长，将给像是道路、大众运输、学校、医院等基础建设带来前所未有的压力，而维州郊区则预计开始萎缩或是进入缓慢的增长期。

我们需要制订一个可让全维州都可在人口增长中受利的计画，而非把所有人口增长的基础建设压力全集中到墨尔本地区。 正如自由党领袖　Matthew Guy 说的，维州需要成为一个有许多城市的大州，而非仅有一个超级城市的大州。

Matthew Guy 先生已成立了维州人口政策因应小组，他们正制定一项政策，一项可让维州因应未来人口增长，鼓励郊区城市化发展的伟大计划。

Victoria needs a population policy

Victoria is now growing at more than 100,000 people a year, and our population is expected to reach 8 million by 2050.

Unless something changes, most of that growth will be in Melbourne, putting huge pressure on roads, public transport, schools, hospitals and other facilities. As the same time, much of country Victoria is expected to shrink, or grow only slowly.

We need to look at ways in which all of Victoria can share in our growth, not just put more pressure on Melbourne. As Liberal Leader, Matthew Guy, says, Victoria needs to be a state of cities, not a city state.

Mr Guy has established a Victorian Population Policy Taskforce to develop a policy to prepare for the future and to encourage and promote more of our growth to be in country Victoria.
