港口危机，墨尔本已被悉尼超越

墨尔本多年来都是澳大利亚最大的集装箱港口，出口贸易一直以来都举足轻重，属于维州经济最重点部分之一。

现今悉尼已超过墨尔本，成为澳大利亚最大的集装箱港口，此景令人堪忧。

屋漏偏逢连夜雨，墨尔本和悉尼的差距可能进一步拉大。 因为新型即将使用的大型货轮将无法通过 Westgate 桥下，也无法停靠在亚拉河畔。

本可扭转劣势，在自由党政府执政期间，支持开发的全新 Hastings港口计画却很可惜的被当前 Andrews 政府废除了。

我们需要政府确保维州有一个能容纳当前新型大货轮的港口，以此因应未来进出口、投资和就业的挑战，新时代的港口对于保持维州竞争力与良好的商业环境尤其至关重要。

Melbourne’s port falling behind Sydney

It is worrying that Sydney has now overtaken Melbourne for the largest container port in Australia.

For years, Melbourne has been Australia’s largest container port, and our export trade has been one of the most important parts of Victoria’s economy.

Now Melbourne risks falling further behind, because the large ships that will soon be coming to Australia can’t fit under the Westgate Bridge or to docks travel up the Yarra River.

The previous Victorian Liberal government supported developing a new port for Victoria at Hastings, but this was scrapped by the Andrews government.

We need the government to ensure Victoria has a port that can handle the larger ships of the future that are vital for exports, investment and jobs.
