政府阻挡 “不交待尸体，就没假释” 的修正案

上周在维州议会，政府对加强谋杀犯保释条件，”不交待受害者尸体位置，就不允许假释” 的法律修正案投下了反对票，

自由党在议会推动这项法律修正案，所以当受害者尸体找不到，而杀人犯却又坚决不透露他们所知的受害者尸体位置，则该嫌犯将禁止被假释提早出狱。

如受害者尸体无法被找到，这无疑更增加受害家属心中的悲痛。 当一个杀人凶手被定罪，羁押在监狱中，却又迟迟不肯透露隐藏受害者尸体位置时，这表示此人并无悔意，更无意为自己的过失做出改善与弥补，如此之人，自然也不应获得任何减刑。

州政府在此一修正案投下反对票，拒绝透露受害者尸体位置的凶手仍可继续获得假释，可提前被释放。 政府对这样强化法制的修正案投下反对票，如此举动，实在让人非常失望。

Government blocks “no body, no parole” laws

 

Last week in State Parliament, the government voted to stop new laws being passed for stronger penalties for murderers who refuse to reveal where the body of their victim is.

 

The Liberal Party introduced these proposed new laws into Parliament so that a murderer cannot obtain parole and be released from jail early if their victim’s body can’t be found and the murderer won’t reveal what they know about where the body is.

 

Where a killer murders a victim and the body can’t be found, that adds even more to the grief of the victim’s family and friends.

 

If a murderer has been convicted and is in jail, and still won’t disclose where they’ve hidden the body, it shows they don’t have any true remorse, they haven’t been rehabilitated and they don’t deserve any reduction in their time in jail.

 

It is very disappointing that instead of supporting these proposed new laws, the State government voted to block them so that murderers will continue to be released early from jail even if they refuse to say where their victim’s body is.
