政府新政策，削减学校的选择权

维州政府上周宣布，它正实施一项新政策，限制家长对孩童所能就读学校的选择权。

未来除非有超过一半的学生住在学区内，否则政府将不会给学校提供额外的教室。

本次政策直接受影响的公立学校佔 15% 左右，这也让家长对送孩童至该校就读增加了许多困难度。

自由党联盟反对这项新政策，我们相信父母在孩童的教育问题上，应有合理且公平的选择权，唯此，才更能因材施教，给他们的孩子接受最好的教育。

Government cuts school choice

The Victorian government announced last week that it is placing new restrictions on parents being able to choose which school their child attends.

In future, the government will not provide extra portable classrooms to a school unless more than half of its students live in the school’s local area.

This will affect around 15% of all government schools, and will make it harder for parents to send their child to the school that they choose.

The Liberal Nationals are opposing this change. We believe in parents having choice, so that children can receive the best possible education.
