Tzu Chi welcome the New Year
On Sunday, I was privileged to attend a New Year Blessing Ceremony held by the Tzu Chi Foundation in Box Hill.
Tzu Chi’s volunteers provide emergency relief, and help with recovery and rebuilding after natural disasters, in many different parts of the world.
Volunteers also give medical and dental care in disadvantaged countries and regions, provide education and other support in refugee communities, promote recycling and environmental clean-ups, and encourage sustainable and healthy lifestyles. Their work is inspired by compassion and care for all human beings, in the Buddhist tradition.
Tzu Chi has many volunteers living across Melbourne, who help with programs including dental services, school breakfasts and after-school care, nursing home visits and rubbish clean-ups from parks and nature reserves.
