强化法制，面对少年犯罪亦应如是

维州警察总长 Graham Ashton 上周证实，现今的确面临青少年犯罪抓了又判、判了保释、保释期间犯罪又被抓的恶性循环。

维州警方正尽力打击青少年有组织的犯罪行为，青少年犯罪下的受害者更包括华裔家庭、学生等多个群体。 如果您周边有认识的朋友或亲人因此受害，应鼓励他们要勇于向警方报案。

然则维州现今警力不足，急需更多警察来因应人口增长所带来的治安缺口更是不容忽视的重大议题。

Andrews 政府年初通过放鬆法制来保护少年犯，如此行为显然是愚蠢也不恰当，即使维州警方大力反对放鬆法制，但 Andrews政府仍一意孤行。 事实胜于雄辩，无论政府试图把话说的多漂亮，日益败坏的治安，帮派犯罪激增等问题都在新闻随处可见。 政府一连串错误决策终把整个维州治安与人民安全都赔了进去，

这类包括少年犯如违反保释条件也不会有什麽惩罚的修法， 不但徒增少年犯蔑视法律进而挑战法律底线的心态，更把社区民众安全置于前所未有的风险中。

Stronger action needed on juvenile crime

The Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police, Graham Ashton, last week confirmed there is a big problem with juvenile offenders being arrested and charged, and then getting bail and going straight back to offending.

Victoria Police have been doing their best to fight crimes by juvenile gangs, including those crimes where Chinese families and students have been victims. If you or anyone you know is a victim of a crime, they should report the crime to the police.

However, Victoria needs more police to tackle increasing crime rates.

It is also very foolish that the Andrews government legislated earlier this year to weaken bail laws for juveniles, even though Victoria Police opposed this change.

The change means that in future juvenile offenders who breach a condition of their bail will no longer incur any penalty for doing so. This will just add to the huge problem the community already faces from juvenile offenders treating the law and the justice system with contempt.
