工黨變身散財童子，棄東西環線代價暴增

政府近期透露资讯显示放弃东西环线道路 (East West Link) 的成本不但较之前宣称的高，而且有大幅度暴增的问题。

政府为了将原借贷款挪用至其它建设项目，在必须保留原本为东西环线而申请之借贷合约的条件下已支付高达 200万澳币的成本。

有鑑于此，工党政府为了放弃东西环线工程而支付的费用至今已超过八亿六千万澳币，这也是州政府有史以来为了不进行某个建案而需付出最惨痛也最高昂的代价。

最令人感到讽刺的是维州财长在议会中声称那笔花费是 “物超所值”， 相信多数维州人民对于财长的言论不但难以认同并且犹有其掩耳盗铃之感 。

Cost of scrapping East West Link increases

Recently, the government revealed that the cost of abandoning the East West Link project has grown even higher than previously known. 

The government disclosed that it has incurred costs of $200 million as part of keeping a loan contract originally entered into for East West Link. The government is now trying to keep this contract and use the loan for another project. 

The total known cost of the Labor government ending the East West Link project is now over $860 million. This is the largest amount ever spent by a state government to not proceed with a project. 

To make matters worse, the Victorian Treasurer told Parliament that this money was “money well spent”. Most Victorians would disagree.
