墨尔本需要机场铁路

很高兴上周总理谭宝 (Malcolm Turnbull) 对兴建墨尔本机场铁路 (airport rail link) 表态支持。

搭乘汽车前往机场的人越来越多，耗时冗长，交通每况愈下，即便抵达机场，停车费对许多人亦是一笔负担。
将心比心，此等不便对于游客而言更是如此。 倘若没有机场铁路线，墨尔本不但将持续落后世界其他主要城市，在旅游市场和商业环境的竞争优势也会日渐消失‧

自由党联盟政府于 Napthine 州长执政时期曾致力搭建机场铁路，并视其为墨尔本铁路规划的一部分，然则此一计画于 Andrews 政府当选后遭淘汰废除。
如今 Andrews 政府当务之急应是与谭宝总理合作，兴建墨尔本机场铁路线方可不负民众的期待。

Melbourne needs an airport rail link

It was pleasing to see Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull last week support the building of an airport rail link for Melbourne.

It is taking everyone longer and longer to get to the airport by car, drop off passengers and find somewhere to park.  It is also expensive to park at the airport.

Without an airport rail link, Melbourne will continue to fall behind other major cities, and become less popular for tourists and as a place to do business.

The previous Liberal-Nationals state government under Premier Napthine committed to build a train line to the airport as part of its Melbourne Rail Link.  However, this was scrapped by Premier Andrews when he was elected.

Premier Andrews now needs to work with Prime Minister Turnbull to build an airport rail link as soon as possible.
