医护工作者受袭案件激增

维州去年一年内，医护工作者受袭案件激增 33%。

医护受袭不禁让人想起之前在 Box Hill 医院的惨剧，一名年轻外科医生于医院入口处，劝导访客该地方禁止吸菸而遭袭击殴打致死。

去年一年内，维州医护工作人员遭受暴力攻击的事件高达 11,636 起。

医护人员必需应对的病患中包括吸食冰毒或其他毒品的病人与访客，除此外还要面对假释或保释中的暴力罪犯。

医院应是治疗癒合伤口的场所，而不是产生暴力伤痛的地方。 这些针对医护人员的袭击事件无不表明，政府需要更强而有力的法律和监禁系统，保障社区与医护人员的安全。

Huge increase in attacks on health workers

 

Violence against Victorian health workers jumped by a massive 33% last year.

 

These attacks included the tragic death of a young surgeon at Box Hill Hospital who was punched and critically injured after asking a visitor to stop smoking near the hospital entrance.

 

There were 11,636 incidents of violence recorded against staff in Victoria’s health services last year.

 

Staff have to cope with patients and visitors on ice and other drugs, as well as violent offenders who have been released on bail or parole.

 

Hospitals should be places of healing, not places of violence. These attacks show once more that the state government needs to provide stronger laws and jail sentences to keep our community safe.
