Chinese community gets involved in Federal election

My congratulations to all Chinese Australians who got involved in Saturday’s Federal election.

We are fortunate in Australia that we live in democratic country with free elections and freedom of speech. It is very pleasing that increasing numbers of Australians of Chinese background are having their say about the best government for Australia.

My thanks in particular to everyone who helped Liberal Party federal candidates in polling booths in my electorate, in Box Hill and nearby suburbs. Your hard work helped achieve excellent results for Josh Frydenberg in Koonung, Michael Sukkar in Deakin and Julia Banks in Chisholm.

In particular, at the time of writing, it looks very likely that Julia Banks will be elected as the new MP for Chisholm, winning this electorate for the Liberal Party away from Labor. As well, Josh Frydenberg and Michael Sukkar have both been re-elected with increased numbers of votes.
