铁路工资暴涨,票价首当其冲
上周工会再次展现强硬姿态,政府也再次妥协。 这次得到州政府大幅度加薪的是铁路工会劳工,加薪幅度为三年内加薪 17%,除了丰厚的薪酬调整外,还奉送大幅度额外奖励给平交道移除工程的劳工。
然则天底下没有白吃的午餐,大幅度加薪是每个劳工的丰满理想,而加薪后要面临的却是全民承担的骨感现实,这次加薪无疑意味着铁路营运成本增加,这些增加的成本最终只能转嫁到乘客身上,而在营运成本增加的压力下,票价的看涨也就成了残酷又必需面对的问题。
今次州政府对工会再次的予取予求 ,明日不排除会有更多工会争相效彷。 企业经营因劳工薪资暴涨而感到压力山大,这都会大幅度削减维州竞争力,投资人也会望而却步。
过与不及皆有所害,政府与其对工会予取予求,倒不如维护合理的工资上涨而非不合理的贪得无厌。 工资上涨只要符合公平合理并且可负担的原则,那必可得到民众谅解,反之,则不但辜负人民期待,更给维州的商业环境遗留下心腹大患。

Rail wage rise means higher taxes, fares
Last week another big wage increase was given to workers doing work under the state government, this time for railway infrastructure workers.
Workers were given a pay rise of 17% over three years, with an extra bonus for workers on level crossing removal project.
The increase means higher costs for our train system, which will require higher fares for train travellers or higher taxes to subsidise rail operators for the extra cost.
It also means other unions will look for similar large pay rises, driving up business costs and making Victoria less competitive.
Instead of giving in to union demands whenever strikes are threatened, the State government needs to insist that wage increases are fair, reasonable and affordable.
