Expensive pay deal with nurses union

Generous and expensive pay deals just keep on coming under Daniel Andrews.

Nurses, like everyone else, are entitled to fair and reasonable pay rises for the valuable work they do. However, these are big increases, well above what most other workers can get these days.

As my colleague Mary Wooldridge MP says, the fact the nurses’ union are willing to do a seven year deal shows they’ve gotten just about everything they wanted out of the government.

The government now needs to guarantee to Victorians that the many extra $ millions this agreement will cost Victorian hospitals and health services will be fully funded from the budget, so that hospitals and health services won’t have to cut patient care in order to pay for these big increases.
