维州需要强化法制,加强警力

 现今的电视仍充斥着可怕的家庭入侵、企图劫车和街头随机暴力犯罪等新闻事件。

在一次又一次新闻事件背后，不幸的事实是，维州法律不断被削弱，对于罪犯，尤其青少年犯罪过度宽容，导致他们深信即使犯罪被抓顶多只有不痛不痒的处罚。

屋漏偏逢连夜雨，在法制宽鬆之际，维州亦面临警力严重不足。 警力缺乏伴随而来的是警察局关门，又或是报案后，警察姗姗来迟的低效反应。

除非政府即刻採取行动改变，不然这些犯罪问题只会继续恶化。 我们需要更多警力投入维安，我们更需要强化法制与适度加重量刑来震摄犯罪。 唯有疾风厉行整治犯罪方能保障人民生命财产，维护社区邻里安全。

Victoria needs stronger laws and more police

The TV news continues to be full of reports of frightening home invasions, car-jacking attempts and random violent attacks on our streets.

Unfortunately, the state government has allowed the law to be weakened. Offenders, especially young offenders, believe they will suffer very little punishment even if they are caught.

As well, there are not enough police, so police stations are being closed and there are often long delays before police attend after a crime is committed.

These crimes will continue and get worse unless the government takes action. We need more police, and we need stronger laws and penalties so that offenders are deterred from crime and the community is kept safe.
