犯罪數字攀升，維州需要更多的警察

上周最新政府數據顯示犯罪數字在許多地區正急速攀升，其中在毒品、違反法院強制令和恐嚇犯罪的數量更是明顯增加。

這一切數據正表明維州在火車站周遭地區需投入更多警力和武裝保安 (PSO) 才能有效維安的迫切性。只有投入更多警力和武裝保安並且推動修法與強化執行等多管齊下方能使犯罪被有效察覺；犯法的人也才可有效的被緝拿和起訴。

攀升的犯罪數據暴露了工黨領導下的維州政府從未做出任何措施改善警力不足問題的管理缺失，而維州人民的當務之急正是需要政府投入更多警力來維安保護我們社區的安全。

Crime figures show why Victoria needs more police

 The latest crime figures released last week show that there have been big increases in the amount of crime recorded in various areas, particularly drug crimes, breaches of court orders and threatening behaviour

 This shows the importance of having more police as well as Protective Services Officers on railway stations, who can catch and charge offenders.

 Having more police and PSOs, together with stronger laws, means more crimes can be detected, and more offenders can be charged and punished.

 It is therefore disappointing that the Victorian Labor government has not employed any extra police since it was elected.  We need more police to continue making our community safer.
