州长对工会言听计从，消防危机风起云涌

依照目前情况来看，儘管政府同僚，紧急服务部长 强烈反对下，州长 Daniel Andrews 仍然想对 消防工会 (UFU) 提出的无理要求妥协。

如 Andrews 先生妥协，给予 UFU 工会激进领袖权力，使之可否决 郊区消防局 (CFA) 管理层的决定，同时也限制CFA 消防志工的工作权，其结果将伴随着灾难性的风险。

在维州郊区，当地的消防志工们不但有相当的知识技术，更承诺愿意赴汤蹈火，保护居住的社区免于森林大火威胁，而如今工会 UFU 却试图逼退或限制这些伟大的消防志工，然后以领优厚政府薪水的工会成员取而代之。

维州消防服务的未来不应被这样的牺牲，政府经费更不应如此的被浪费，尤其当牺牲竟然只为了回报工会在 2014 年选举期间支持州长Andrews 的政治承诺。

Fire services at risk if Premier gives in to union’s demands

It appears that the Premier, Mr Andrews, wants to give in to demands being made by the the United Firefighters Union (UFU), despite the strong opposition of the Emergency Services Minister and the heads of Victoria’s firefighting services.

There are serious dangers if Mr Andrews gives the militant leaders of the UFU the right to veto decisions made by the Country Fire Authority and to restrict the work of CFA volunteers.  

In country Victoria, local volunteers have the knowledge and the commitment to protect their communities from the danger of bushfires. However, the UFU is trying to force out or restrict volunteers and replace them with paid firefighters.

The future of our fire services should not be sacrificed because of the promises Mr Andrews made in order to get union support for his election campaign at the 2014 election.
