This week in State Parliament – 16 April 2015
This week in State Parliament, Liberal and Nationals MPs grilled Labor over their appalling decision to scrap the East West Link, forcing Labor to reveal more about the true size of the compensation bill Victorians will have to pay.
We also called on Daniel Andrews to reverse his disgraceful, ideologically motivated, decision to scrap 42 Peter Mac hospital beds for cancer patients.
As well, we:
– highlighted the flaws and costs in Labor’s proposal to use water from the desalination plant to fill recreational lakes in northern Victoria
– opposed Labor’s legislation to ban cattle grazing in the high country, and
– exposed union bullying of small businesses that stayed shut on Labor’s Easter Sunday public holiday because they couldn’t afford to open.
We also demanded answers from Labor over reports of political intervention by Labor Ministerial staff, at the instigation of the United Firefighters Union, in serious disciplinary charges against a UFU member.
