$9.5 million to rebuild Koonung Secondary College

A Liberal-Nationals Government will provide $9.5 million for a major upgrade of Koonung Secondary College.

The funding will enable an extensive rebuild of the school, with new and upgraded classrooms and facilities, including for sports, visual and performing arts, science and other specialist areas.

I strongly welcome this commitment, and was pleased to join Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith, at the school to make it.

Koonung Secondary College is a great school that provides an excellent innovative and diverse curriculum, but it badly needs an upgrade.

Regrettably, the Andrews government scrapped the major upgrade funding committed in 2014 by the previous Liberal Nationals government, leaving students and teachers with outdated and run-down classrooms and facilities.

The upgrade funding that an elected Liberal-Nationals government will provide will ensure Koonung Secondary College can provide its first-class programs with state-of-the-art buildings and facilities.

It will give the students and staff of Koonung Secondary College the modern learning environment they need and deserve.
