自由党承诺推动新法，严惩追撞警车

犹忆过往，当年犯罪份子对警察的又敬又怕，如今越来越多罪犯目无法纪，为了逃逸而不惜追撞警车，不禁让人深感时过境迁，人心不古。

过去三年内，维州警车值勤时遭受追撞的数量已暴增三倍，仅过去九个月，已发生 115 次攻击追撞警车的事件。

警察是人民保姆，他们保护邻里和人民的安全，但这些年来却因歹徒目无法纪而屡遭追撞。

有鑑于此，维州自由党领袖 Mathew Guy 宣布，倘若明年自由党有幸执政，除了强化法制，推动改革，也会提案新法保护警察。 新法将要求所有追撞警车的歹徒，在已判或应判的刑期之外，亦需额外判处 2 年有期徒刑以示惩戒。

警察冒着生命危险保护邻里，维护治安。 将心比心，我们也需更强而有力的法律来保护警察的安危。

Liberal promise strong laws on police car ramming

In the past, criminals used to respect and fear the police.  Now more and more criminals are ramming police cars and thinking they can get away with it.

The number of police cars being rammed in Victoria has more than tripled over the last three years.  There have been 115 ramming attacks on police cars in just the last nine months.

Liberal Party leader Matthew Guy has announced that if the Liberals are elected in Victoria next year, we will introduce a new law against ramming police vehicles.  Offenders will be required to spend at least two years in jail, on top of any other jail term they may be given.

Police officers risk their lives to protect the community.  The law needs to protect our police with strong jail sentences to punish anyone who attacks them.
