维州犯罪中，累犯问题日趋严重。 超过 40% 的罪犯在他们出狱后，很快又犯下另一个罪行，而且将近三分之一的罪犯被处以社区劳动后，都会再次犯罪，完全肆无忌惮。

与此同时，违反法院判决命令的人数也在与日俱增，法院下达的判决令更有大约 40% 无法顺利执行。

显而易见的是，正因政府对犯罪的态度过于软弱，在多数州的犯罪皆慢慢下滑时，维州反而另类的一枝独秀，犯罪逐年增加的恶况也就见怪不怪了。

Weak justice system gets worse

Reoffending by criminals is continuing to increase in Victoria.

More than 40% of criminals now commit another crime after leaving jail, and almost one third of offenders who are placed on a community order go on to commit another crime.

The number of offenders who fail to comply with court orders has also continued to increase. Offenders now fail to complete about 40% of all orders made by the courts.

With the government and the justice system being so soft on criminals, it is not surprising that crime in Victoria is continuing to rise even though it is falling in most other states.
